Painting Cirrus clouds...Step One:
Cirrus are high altitude clouds composed of ice crystals. These thin and wispy clouds are most often seen during fair weather.
The sky is painted completely to begin this demo. The colors used were ultramarine blue, brilliant blue and white.
I did not include the clouds as part of the underpainting. Cirrus clouds are thin and transluscent, therefore they are painted after the sky is completed.
Step Two:
The mixture used for these clouds was white and dioxazine purple. It was thinned to the consistancy of watercolor and applied very thinnly with "U" shaped brush strokes.
Note: All clouds lacking mass is painted over top of a completed sky.
Final Step:
The trees were added to complete the demo.
