Understanding the various cloud types gives one more confidence when painting them.
Introduction:

There are numerous types of clouds; varying in shape and size in each classification. I present the most common ones here.
Clouds are composed of minute water particals and / or ice crystals. As natural light interacts with the components of a cloud, all wavelengths of color are refracted and dispersed; causing the colors to reform into white light. Thus, a cloud appears white.
Instructions for painting clouds are not included with every type shown here. Refer to the corresponding demonstrations for instructions on painting them.
